NO, But I would support someone else coming up with the daily poll.

This question was already asked with in the last month and is getting the same responce.

I'm guessing Mayor O'Brien is the who is coming up with the questions. LOL

I agree with escaped. Actually, I am sick of seeing large screen TVs everywhere, period. However, to see them in a LIBRARY is just plain disturbing.

Grumo, if YOU could read, you'd see that I have stated that the Warren Library does not deserve any more levy money. They have not been good stewards of that money. I pay 10% of my pay into my pension. I'll pay taxes on my pension when I receive it. I'm sorry you feel public employees are scum of the earth and should work for free. I earned my Masters degree and make half of what the average American worker with a Masters gets. I also have no employer paid benefits. All to serve ungrateful tax payers like you. Stuff it.

The library staff has a sense of entitlement. I often go to the library and see staff standing around talking and gossiping and ignoring patrons. ONLY when they're under threat of being cut do they become SUPER attentive, complaining to ever patron who will listen about how they're being treated unfairly by the budget cuts the state has handed down to them.

If they were as busy as they claim, they wouldn't have time to stand around talking while people wait to be serviced.

The only dinosaur in this scenario is you, grump. You obviously have no idea what you are talking about since libraries have never been busier, circulation is record setting, and many people rely on those libraries you disparage for internet access. And you obviously know nothing about public pension funds either since PERS and others are exactly like "401k type" and we pay a lot more into them than you have ever paid into social security.

I believe that there are a lot of opportunities to reduce costs at the library system, e.g., more focus on purchasing computers, less on magazines, etc. Why should the library be spending money on things like People magazine?

Warren Library has not been good stewards of the money they have received from the state. There is no need for large screen TV's and serving coffee in a public library. I am a supporter or libraries, but wasteful spending in any setting is wrong and indicative of a complacency that we as tax payers can not afford and should not foot the bill for.
